OUTDOOR MUSEUM

location | Roxbury, MA

date | Fall 202

recognition | Nominated to present at Northeastern’s RISE Awards

This project focuses on the design of an “outdoor museum” as an urban gesture that responds to existing forces and systems that shape the built environment, focusing on the SoutWest Corridor Park in Boston as a case study. The threshold between open spaces of this 4.1-mile-long linear park becomes a narrow passageway that lacks visual interest and access.

This project aims to bridge the linear conditions of the corridor with a site located near Roxbury College by redesigning the street, creating more means of access, forming a terraced landscape, and constructing pavilions that act as viewing galleries. Inspired by the Downtown Crossing Steps, this project aspires to transform open space into a public means for gathering and access to nature.
