ROXBURY LIBRARY RENOVATION

location | Roxbury, Boston

date | Summer 2021

recognition | BSA Sustainability Award

recognition | Honorable Mention, AN Best of Design Awards

notes | Work done at Utile, inc.

I developed a diagram to exhibit the realigning of the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library to achieve 21st-century sustainability goals. This exercise showcases the skills of creating a compound section rendered diagram and the ability to express the systems and environmental factors of a building in one image. Additional building upgrades include new windows, new insulation, a new roof, and modernized HVAC and lighting to significantly reduce the building’s energy consumption and carbon footprint. The library is now fully accessible with a new elevator and enhanced technology for the hearing impaired.
